Hope Cycle Challenge - West Coast of Scotland and Isle of Mull 2010
For those of you who would like to take part in a charity bike ride with a difference, then how about taking part in Hope’s 2010 cycle challenge! As with 2005, the ride will start and finish in Stirling the home of William Wallace!
The route is intended to be challenging but at the sometime exhilarating, as you will be cycling through some of the most stunning scenery the British Isles has to offer. In total you will cycle 350 miles in 5 days! The date of the challenge is: Saturday 8th May – Friday 14th May, with the ride taking place between the 9th – 13th May.
This is a fully supported cycle challenge with an experienced support team which includes riders and other support volunteers. There will be a maximum of 20 riders (min age 18) and riders will be asked to contribute £300 towards the cost of the event providing they pledge to raise a minimum of £1000 for Hope Against Cancer.
Your contribution towards costs includes all meals, accommodation (3* hotels and bunkhouses) and transportation of you, your luggage and your bike throughout the event. So to be a part of this great cycling challenge, please download the application form or contact the Hope office further details.
The provisional Itinerary is:
Saturday 8th May 2010 - Depart from Leicester to Stirling
Sunday 9th May - Stirling to Arrichar
Port of Mentieth, Dukes Pass, Loch Katrine, ferry across Loch Lomond.
Monday 10th May - Arrachar to Oban
Rest & Be Thankful climb, Loch Fyne, Inverary, Loch Awe, Oban.
Tuesday 11th May - Circular route around the Isle of Mull
Early ferry to Mull. Loch Scridain and Loch na Keal, Gruline, Calgary.
Wednesday 12th May - Mull to Bridge of Orchy
Ferry back to mainland, ferry across Loch Linnie, Glencoe, Rannoch Moor.
Thursday 13th May - Orchy to Stirling
Crainlarich, Lochearnhead, Callender. Finish!
Friday 14th May - Travel back to Leicester from Stirling.
