A detailed summary and review of articles about red hands and feet caused by chemotherapy

10th January 2007

Palmar Plantar erythema (PPE) is a side effects of some chemotherapy agents used to treat cancer and can be very painful for the patient and affect their quality of life.

With this information I wish to take my research further to develop and test a risk assessment tool for PPE to enable nurses to identify people who have an increased risk of developing this side effect so that strategies can be put in place at the outset to reduce the severity of PPE.
